It shows that we need to branch out beyond the simplistic kinds of genetic variation field experiments that are common. the Stickleback example is an excellent lesson. My only fear with the Mouse experiment is that the impact on predation of the experimental conditions may confound its impact on the population changes. It is an important area of exploration though, and could have impacts on many areas of microevolution and ideas of genetic drift. We have a lot to learn
