Thanks for posting this.

This is about one aspect of Hansen's Op Ed piece: drought in the Mid West
in the next decades. In response to Hansen's article Dr. *Martin
Hoerling* who is
a research meteorologist, specializing in climate dynamics, in *NOAA's* Earth
System Research Laboratory located in Boulder, Colorado wrote an artilce
critiquing Hansens view about the potential for drought.

Are these scientists arguing over science deatils? Well maybe not. Read
them and then read a critiuqe of Dr Hoerling's asertions.

THis is not of esoteric interest. There are serious questions about what
the international community is going to do or rather how long they are
going to dither about what to do and how to avoid being more adversely
affected by the need to curb the rise of global temperatures. There mabe
little to salvage.

If the Earth goes belly up all the SUV's or whatever will be their
equivalent in the next centureis will no be of any help to anyone. Yes the
predisctions are worst case scenarios but the science is not suggesting
otherwise. The cloud cover effects, research yet to be completed, is not
likely going to negate the effects of
climate change and temperature rise.
