Hi All,
Good to read the discussion.  A colleague at the Exploratorium, Judith Brand, brought to my attention a pertinent YouTube video by another cognitive/educational psychologist.  I don't think it came through to the list serve , however, so I'm reposting.  Willingham has somewhat similar views. His presentation covers aspects of your criticism.  Personally, I'd like to see a much more predictive model and theory developed with respect to museum exhibitions and situations, but that's not the main point of my post.  

I'd like to see more up front discussion, and visitor learning theory developed that includes cognitive psychology, evolutionary biology, etc.  And to this end, I hoping to engender some thoughtful discussion.
