I am posting this for a colleague about a free exhibit rental....

*****
If you would you like a free astronomy exhibit - for either a short time or possibly even permanently then read on...

The National Science Foundation created an exhibit on LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory). "Astronomy's New Messengers" introduces what gravitational waves are and how we look for them using interferometers. The exhibit was designed and realized by renown NYC design firms LHSA+DP (http://www.skolnick.com) and LSLP (http://lightprojectsltd.com). The target audience is primarly with young people and blends art and science in a unique design. For details on the exhibit check out:

http://ligo.phy.olemiss.edu/LIGOexhibit/

The floorplan is 25'x40' requiring a clearance of 17' across the whole area. there are several interactives in the exhibit, including a magnificent light sculpture realized by LSLP which represents the universe, with a touch-screen interface.

The exhibit is available without rental fees (museums would be required to pay for inbound shipping, provide proof of insurance, and provide set-up help.

If you're interested in having the exhibit at your site then please contact Marco Cavaglia <[log in to unmask]>
