Mark, I'll leave it to the experts to render an opinion - but your
predicament is a reminder of the challenges - and rewards that come
with this - things that once felt so obvious are no
longer...bernoulli is one that comes to mind; vision is
another...there has to be processing speed built into our system,
from image hitting the retina to building the image in the brain (I'm
not talking about reaction time)...so aren't we all operating some
milliseconds behind??
I did a poor job a few years ago of encouraging a sort of Friday
afternoon water cooler conversation on the list serve, asking that
those of us who were confused (and, I hope, excited by these new
found conundrums) take a topic and write about it - life got in the
way (meaning making a living) and I totally dropped the ball.
Thanks for reminding why I love being a dilettante and why I enjoying
the process so much!
