ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Hello everyone,
You are invited to join a networking site that has been created to
discuss the role of culture and worldviews in science learning. On
Monday at the ASTC Conference, Martin Storksdiek, Cynthia Ashley, and
Alonso Mendez facilitated a great discussion about the influence of
worldviews on the way science is learned and the part that science
centers have to play in providing learning experiences that include
non-Western views of science. After the session was over many of us felt
that we wanted to continue sharing our questions and ideas.
If you'd like to take part in the conversation, join us on the Ning
site! Go to http://worldviews.ning.com/ to add your profile. You can
respond to an existing discussion, or start a new forum of your own. If
you have websites or resources that you'd like to share please post
those as well. On the Ning you can also create your own groups if you
want to get a smaller, more specific conversation started. For example,
you may want to link up with other members who are interested in
exploring worldviews and astronomy.
Thanks so much!
