ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Paul,My company, Ideum, is working with Adventure Science Center to develop
an multitouch exhibit on the EM spectrum. We're building a 100" multitouch
table which uses two short-throw projectors, two computers and four IR
cameras. It allows up to 8 user to interact with the exhibit simultaneously.

The software we are developing will allow visitors to move images across the
table and see how they are imaged in different wavelengths. (They can also
scale and rotate the images.) The exhibit includes both celestial and
terrestrial objects.

We conducted a photo shoot of ordinary objects in visible, IR (thermal),
ultraviolet and we had X-rays of each done as well. In the final exhibit,
visitors will be able access contextual information about each image
depending on which wavelength is shown.

Across the long sides of the table have symmetric labels that also act as
"drawers" providing information about the wavelengths.

An early drawing of the exhibit can be found on our blog.

We're constructing the table right now and it will be installed at the
Adventure Science Center in Nashville, later this fall.

Jim
