ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor will host "Imagine Math as a Vehicle for
Museum, School & Community Partnerships", a free, one-day RAP on December 1,
2008.

As after-school hours become increasingly central for providing good science
and math experiences, collaborations between museums and after-school
programs are critical. How can museums help to build capacity for local
after-school programs?

* Come learn and share information about successful collaborative
math projects.

* Develop strategies for forming these important partnerships.

* Experience engaging standards-based mathematics activities from
After-School Math PLUS (ASM+), funded by NSF.

The RAP conference is suitable for educators wanting to know more about
integrating hands-on math in the curriculum and for key members of
children's and science museums and community agencies interested in creating
partnerships. Please come and share your expertise and learn about the
various partnership models that emerged with the implementation of the ASM+
program.
