Has anyone successfully grown a "lawn" of bacteria using a kid-friendly
source (i.e. swabbing your mouth, under your nails, kitchen sponge...)?
I need more than just individual colonies, but a huge sheet of bacteria
growing.

What are your experiences (advantages/disadvantages) of using agar or
gelatin as the base for the bacteria to grow?
