ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

"User-generated exhibit content" and the broader, variously-guised
concept of the "open-ended museum experience" being muscular memes at
the ASTC conference this past week, many might be interested in a
similar conversation taking place in the journalism field.
Attendees present for the "Visitor Visions, Shared Realities" session
on Monday will discover a lot of parallels.

This article on "crowd-sourcing" the news just came through WNYC's On
The Media podcast:
http://www.onthemedia.org/episodes/2007/10/12/segments/87114
You can listen to it or read the transcript.

If you Google "crowdsourcing" you will find a plethora of articles
(mostly dated 2006) that use the term in the context of any of a
number of fields, including problem-solving, design, cartography, and
as an alternative to outsourcing.

Great conference!
Keep up the great work, everybody!
