One of our volunteers recently made a version of this exhibit for us,
which we called 'Magnetic drawing". It's been fun.

The sheet of "refrigerator magnet" material on a board came from
McMaster-Carr (#5756K353). If you don't know who they are, you
absolutely must check out www.mcmaster.com.

He found colored METAL chains from www.umei.com in 30" lengths (LY-701-
30" -- they are called ball chain lanyard) for about 60cents each (we
cut them into varying lengths).

>I've visited several museums recently that have small slanted magnetic design boards with chains of beads to use as a design tool. I'm wondering if there is a proper name for these exhibits and where one might go about purchasing both the slanted board and the beads. Any help would be appreciated.
