ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

A few years back, Beryl Rosenthal started a session at the ASTC
conference by telling how one museum colleague (from, iirc, an art
museum? Beryl?) was appalled by the fact that science centers shared all
their ideas online on this very listserv.

I wonder: what was that individual smoking?

So let me take a moment to say: thanks ASTC netfolk! Just yesterday I
tried out the Super-simple motor Lath sent out, and it really works just
as well as advertised. About a bajillion folks sent me useful advice on
the dissecting of machines experiment; we've done it a few times this
summer and it's been a huge hit. (A printer is like some strange kind of
treasure chest.) When one of our classes was in danger of extinction
thanks to a lack of 35 mm film cans, Michelle got the contact info for
Fuji that hooked me up with a 4 year supply. Many people cared deeply
about putting a hat on a whale and sent suggestions. I can't send jpegs,
but you can see a shot of the results on my personal blog:

I'll say it again: thanks for all your help, cyber cohorts.

"Connecticut is called The Nutmeg State, because much like the nutmeg in
any recipe it's ever been in, no one would miss it if it were gone."
