I have a few questions about small traveling exhibits.
1. Since the very small shows will probably not be installed in the
normal traveling show spaces will they be connected to the same 90
day time slots?
2. Is there a need for shorter 30, 60, day events and or longer 120
& 180 day events. Is there a need for very short one week
fundraising
events.
3. Would a exhibit/creative activity like this work for smaller museums?
The youngest children normally just hold the flying creature, while
the older children make their own creature, hold it in their hands,
and then take it home.
The reason I ask: The Animated Butterfly exhibit/activity has been
well received at it's last two venues as part of a larger traveling
exhibition. I have thought of offering this exhibit by itself to smaller
museums. It has engaged 3 to 7 year olds for 10 to 20 minutes which is
not to bad for that age group, even parents enjoy participating, For the
next show I planing on adding a Teddy bear holding one of the flying
butterflies. He is offering it to the children to hold.
This small exhibit will fit into 200 to 300 square feet of space.
The complete exhibit can be shipped by UPS with only a minimum of
assemble necessary. Does this design concept appeal to the smaller
children's museum? I am interested in your comments or suggestions.
