Subject: 2011 Session or Preconference Workshop on Expanding Informal
Science for Latinos

institutions.

I have organized two ASTC preconference workshops (2008, 2009) and one
NSF-funded conference (Albuquerque, 2009) focusing on "Expanding
Informal Science for Latinos." The workshops and conference have
focused on the range of issues that are relevant to designing effective
approaches in engaging Latino communities in collaboratively planning
and implementing informal science programs to engage Hispanic students,
families, and general public informal science.

Issues or topics may include: planning projects collaboratively with
the community, culturally sensitive evaluation, planning family-focused
events, Spanish-language media, and effective models and resources.

Please let me know if you are interested in participating in sessions or
a preconference workshop on these issues.
