buy a ton of dowels, small ones about 1/2" diameter, 3 or 4 feet long
(they're cheap), and get a ton of thick rubber bands. Build. Encourage
kids to "think beyond the teepee" and build all kinds of wacky stuff.

One of our favorite and all you need is strips of paper, the
Bernoulli effect. We also do one with two soda cans, place on a table
where the cans barely touch and hold the tops ever so lightly and
blow. The noise is annoying yet the kids love it.
Also volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar. Hand held microscope,
find one at WalMart, kids love to see there skin and other object up
close, have them try and guess what the item is too.
