I have found over the years that carpeting will get very slick,
sometimes sooner, sometimes later, depending on how active the area
is....slick enough there is a danger of people falling. we
(partially) solved the problem by getting a bunch of discontinued
carpet tiles and replacing them, usually once a week.. The trade off
is balancing surface coarseness with absorption.....
