WeatherWorld 2010 has online guides that I think are very well-designed and
scaffolded. Ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu
Programmed learning environments often ignore basic cognitive principles -
connect learners to what they already know, help the learner to develop
their own factual and conceptual understanding, and help the learner reflect
on their own learning.
Weatherworld doesn't accomplish all of this, either, but they come closer to
the first two than other examples I have seen
