ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Emmy Noether was a great mathematician at a time when women were not
mathematicians. She taught and researched in mathematics in Germany before,
during, and after World War I. She made huge contributions to abstract
algebra, among other fields, and the Noetherian Ring is named for her (not
for her father who was also a professor of mathematics.)
