Dear Colleagues,
This coming Sunday is the 150th anniversary of Darwin's seminal
publication "On the Origin of Species". Our museum is going to be
showing the controversial, award-winning documentary film by entitled
"Flock of Dodos" by Randy Olson (2005).
The last time we had a similar event, we had one heckler (a Creationist)
in the audience.
The person eventually left on his own accord, but we (staff) were a
little shocked and unprepared.
I would like to be better prepared this time. Does anyone have any
suggestions, from personal experience, of how our staff can properly
respond to hecklers/trouble-makers at this sort of scientific program?
I have a feeling this subject has been broached on this listserver
before: I will search the archives. But if you would like to respond,
please do (please send responses to my persona email account). Thanks in
advance for any advice you can give.
Best wishes
