Neil Downie's second book of experiments, Ink Sandwiches, Electric Worms,
and 37 Other Saturday Science Experiments contains many experiments on the
topic of communication.   Developed for a science club, they use simple
materials and could be used as is or a more polished apparatus could be
constructed, if desired.  All three of his books have great experiments.
