ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

With gasoline prices going up in the United States, people are finally
starting to drive less, according to some recent polls. I wonder whether any
on the list have stories to report about ways they're taking what might be
an attendance challenge and turning it into a positive effort to help
visitors drive less, and cut carbon emissions in the process.
Is anyone trying to make it easier or more attractive for visitors to arrive
by bicycle? Doing co-promotions with public transporation? Are any other
efforts underway to make a direct contribution to cutting carbon emissions
that result from your center's operations?
If you write off-list, I'll summarize what I hear and report back. We may
also use stories in an issue of ASTC Dimensions about climate change that's
planned for later this year. Thanks.
Wendy
