ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

In response to Colin's message, a clarification seems in order: There is
absolutely NO move to "banish" discussion of evolution from this list. My
message yesterday (about the possibility of setting up a forum) was
intended as
an offer. The list archives speak for themselves. With its 10+-year history,
this list (which is managed by ASTC, like the forums) has hosted
discussions on
a wide variety of topics--besides serving as a place to seek advice and
assistance.
Once in a while there are periods when a small number of subscribers dominate
with very rapid exchanges, and the pace and number of messages was
driving away
some people. It seemed reasonable to suggest a slower, calmer pace, and
sensitivity to the interests and needs of everyone who receives the postings
(the "delete" button doesn't entirely take care of this, though it can help).
ASTC has an area on its website devoted to evolution and we would be happy to
add lists of museums with relevant exhibitions.
http://www.astc.org/resource/education/evolution.htm . We're also working with
the New York Hall of Science on its evolution project and anticipate building
more online resources as part of that work.
My apologies if my remarks offended others -- please carry on.
Wendy
