I need your help:

we are bringing a really nice exhibit in from the British Museum called
"Mummies: the inside story." With SGI, they created an incredible 3d
film that tells the story of one of their mummies named Nesperennub. A
priest from the Thebes, Nesperennub's mummy accompanies the exhibit. In
addition there are more than 80 artifacts that relate to the technical
and religious aspects of mummification.

While the 3d images in the film are spectacular, they are, after all,
fleeting. For that reason, we are looking in the US for a mummy that
might be available for loan (we're willing to consider a fee for such a
loan). Specifically, we're looking for one which has been surveyed
using xray and/or cat scans. We'd like to add these images to tell a
more complete story about the science of non-invasive forensics, to
allow visitors time to reflect on how modern technology has helped
Egyptologists probe deeper. We are also looking for several animal
mummies that have either been surveyed or could be surveyed. While
doing a Mummy exhibit in Dallas about 15 years ago, we found that kids
in particular were really capitvated by the animals, that these
artifacts provided a concrete connection to the past.

I have run into lots of no's on the loan of a mummy, mostly because we
are inside the six month window that most large institutions require for
a loan of this sort.

Any ideas? Any connections you could share? Know a private collector?
feel free to respond directly.

The exhibition dates are March 9th through July 31st. We have met the
environmental criteria set by the British Museum, so meeting strict
display standards should not be a problem.

Thanks for your help.
