Thanks for any leads you can provide her.
SEEKING WOMEN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WORKING IN SCIENCE MUSEUMS FOR
ROLE MODEL MATERIALS
I am an educator, social worker and disability activist working with the
Kansas University Center on Developmental Disabilities on a federally-funded
project designed to increase employment opportunities for young women with
developmental disabilities, including intellectual and cognitive
disabilities.
One aspect of the project is to develop role model materials highlighting
women with developmental disabilities working in interesting, diverse jobs
that would be considered nontraditional for women in general and
particularly women with disabilities. We are particularly eager to include
women working in jobs and settings related to science, such as science
museums
Are there women with developmental disabilities working in your science
museum? Ideally, they would be women working for pay and would have been at
your museum for at least a year. If you know such women or have ideas of
others who might know, please contact me.
Thanks so much!
