1) Ash, D. How families use questions at dioramas : ideas for exhibit design. Curator Vol.47, No.1, January 2004 pp.84-100
This paper explores how families use questioning to create meaning when viewing dioramas at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. The focus is on whether questioning facilitates or obstructs learning and whether the individual learns more with assistance than he would do on his own. The paper examines three families' dialogues in an attempt to understand how questioning interweaves common understandings with standard science.

3) Stevenson J. The long-term impact of interactive exhibits. International journal of science education Vol.13, no.5, 1991 pp.521-531
Family groups at the Launch Pad Gallery at the Science Museum in London spent most of their time interacting with other family members or other visitors in front of an exhibit. Behaviour was observed and followed up by interviews and postal questionnaires. These were carried out first as families left the Gallery, then several weeks later and, finally, six months after the visit. Conclusions include: social interaction during and after the museum visit influences not only the visit itself but also how the visit is remembered. Discussions among family members enhance memories of the visit, including information about exhibits and how family members feel and think about them. Furthermore, these memories last several months after the visit was made.

best wishes

Hi everybody, I'm looking for information about families in science museums: the time they take in their visits, reading of texts, behavior.
Does anybody could recommend me some resources or references, especially those I can get through internet?

Thanks a lot

PD. Sorry for sending this message twice, the first one I forgot to change the subjects
