Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The Oakland Museum of California houses the California Library of
Natural Sounds (I may have the name wrong by a little bit--they're on
the Oakland Museum website). They have an extensive collection of
natural sounds available to non-profits at a reduced rate. I don't
know if they have east coast sounds, but they're worth a try.
