Lisa -
Have you considered giving the participants a scenario and asking them to
outline an evaluation report or prepare a section of one? The scenario could
include the client, stakeholders, and audience, as well as some data. It
might be kind of contrived, of course, but if you use an exercise like this
you could get a sense of where the needs (and strengths) might be, and you
could give the participants an opportunity to see the nuances of the writing
process first-hand.

They do. At least... they will have just finished a short course on
evaluation covering most of the basics. So -- since I'm a writer and not
an
evaluator -- there's not a lot of additional information I can provide on
the most
basic aspects of evaluation, and I'm not qualified to provide advanced
content! My focus needs to be on production and presentation of findings.
Hi Lisa,
It depends on how much this class already knows about evaluation. Do they
know the basics? Do they know the difference between outputs and outcomes,
front end and formative ....etc.?
