Dear ASTC people,

We have hit a problems with trying to builld a Ruben's tube (the standing
waves
in flames demo). We asked a company to quote for building one, and they assured
us that they
wouldn't produce it without having a number of gas safety features installed
to
ensure it was safe. The cost went from something quite reasonable that we had
budgeted up to 12k (which we can't afford!) I have seen the demo done a few
times with limited safety features apparent so wanted to compare notes with
others..

Has anyone toured or travelled with this piece of kit, and can you advise on
what safety features you use to prevent against gas build up or gas leaks?
Have
you had to increase your liability insurance or put any gas safety measures in
place to operate it?
