ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
The Franklin Institute has had two long-standing national programs
for girls in science, The National Science Partnership for Girl
Scouts and Science Museums (NSP) started in 1988 and Girls At the
Center (GAC), begun in 1996. They both represent collaborations
between The Franklin Institute and Girl Scouts of the USA and have
involved over 100 museum and Girl Scout council partners over the
years. NSP kits are currently being revised with new NSF funding and
will be disseminated nationally this year and GAC has published a
book of science curriculum that promotes girl/adult partnership in
science learning. Both have websites listed in my signature below
that are a bit dated but will provide some general information,
These sites are currently under revision. Feel free to contact me
for additional information off-line. Dale
