Hi Julia,

you might want to consider armored cable - the type used at pay phone booths.  They don't curl and are practically indestructible.  Not necessarily cheap, mind you...



Another thought is the wind-up type of telephone cable units - they are commonly given away at trade shows.  The cable is enclosed in a little plastic case, and can be pulled out easily and wound up very neatly.
