Dear ASTC-ISEN subscribers,

I'm excited to announce that Pacific Science Center has selected ten
partners in the National Education Outreach effort accompanying the NOVA/PBS
mini-series ³Origins: A NOVA special with Neil Tyson (working title).² The
four-hour prime-time presentation, tentatively scheduled to air in the fall
of 2004, promises to be a well-publicized and very exciting PBS special that
will appeal to adults and older children alike. The four programs in the
series center on: (1) the origins of evolution and the universe, (2) the
pre-biological earth (and the solar system), (3) the origins and evolution
of life on the earth and (4) the search for life beyond earth.

We received more than fifty applications, which made the selection process
both competitive and very difficult. The Education Outreach print
materials, including lesson plans and demonstration scripts, will be
available online and available for use during the broadcast. Look for
details on how to download the materials as the broadcast date nears.

The ten partner organizations are:
