it's expensive, but you might want to try pumpkin butter, which is made from pumpkin seeds (note: NOT the pumpkin butter which, like apple butter, is more like pie filling). Tastes and smells just like peanut butter, but I have a nut allergy and I can eat it. It is targeted at people who have nut allergies so some brands are not made on machinery used for peanuts. It's a creepy green.

That, or there's probably some soy-based faux-peanut butter stuff out there.

Has anyone found a nut-free replacement for peanut butter for making
pine cone bird feeders? I still want to do the activity, but can't
use a peanut product.
