Hi out there in ASTC land!
I have begun to receive several emails inquiring about our RAP session
titled "Exhibits and expansion in the 21st century" details of which can
be found at the following web site:
http://www.astc.org/profdev/rapdetail_2004.htm#expansion
We have begun work on the agenda for the RAP. Let me say that we will
be looking at exhibition development, design and fabrication standards
at one end of the spectrum. The other part of this RAP will be looking
at the integration of exhibitions with other departments' needs and the
requirements of such things as architecture, fund raising, marketing, IT
and others. Finally we will want to explore the some of the morale,
talent retentionship and leadership issues in a modern world of
exhibition development and design.
I have two points I wish to engage those of you who are interested in
coming.
1. I have begun to receive emails and voice mail of interested
individuals. If you are interested, let me know if you are leaning
towards coming. Although we will have a RSVP in the next month or so, I
am trying to get an early idea of the numbers who will be there. I
already know we probably will have attendees from as far as India coming
to this RAP, so I want to try and start getting accurate numbers.
Secondly, I am opening up to all members of the listserv to send me
ideas, concepts or topics that they think should be part of the RAP. As
we try to set the agenda, if would be great if we could meet the
interests, needs, issues from those in the science center field that
relate to the topic of the RAP. Even if you can't come send me your
ideas. You can send them through the listserv or directly to my email
address:
