ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Hello all!
I am looking for additional panelists and examples for a session about
spaces devoted to prototyping exhibits with visitors.
Sue Sunbury will represent the Boston Museum of Science. You can see
more information on what they're doing at
<http://www.mos.org/exhibitdevelopment/prototyping.html>.
I'll represent the California Academy of Sciences. We're about to close
our permanent site on December 31 to rebuild, and we will have a
temporary site opening downtown in April
<http://www.calacademy.org/events/countdown/>. We'll be doing a lot of
prototyping there:
-- interpretive graphics for the aquarium
-- involving docents and interns in testing three different versions of
our touch tidepool
-- formative evaluation for the new aquarium with a variety of target audiences
-- a "Science Now" exhibit on current science
-- exhibits designed to be easily chageable
If you are working on similar projects, or know of other good examples,
please let me know. (Naturally, I'm trying to get this submitted ASAP.) Thanks!
Best wishes,
Lisa Mackinney
