ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

The closure of the Big Idea in Irvine, Scotland was a sad thing to happen.
It is generally acknowledged that its remote location, 20 miles from the
new Glasgow Science Centre, was not ideal, but the best that could happen
now would be for the building contents and the exhibits, many of which are
of very good quality, to find a new home.
I've put together a website with numerous photographs comprehensively
detailing what's there. I walked round shooting most of these photographs a
few weeks ago and was amazed at the perfect condition of the place. It
would be possible to switch on the power and open the doors to the public
tomorrow. Sadly, that is not going to happen.
The contents of the Big Idea building are currently available for sale here
www.interactives-sale.com
Please take a look and pass the word around. The contact email address for
enquiries is on the website.
Clearly, it is best if a single buyer, or maybe just a couple of buyers,
can be found for everything and at present it is not the owner's intention
to sell off small bits and pieces separately.
Intellectual Property Rights to these exhibits are owned by Haley Sharpe
Design Ltd. Therefore any purchaser would be procuring a single-use licence
only, i.e. not the rights to reproduce or copy the exhibits.
