Hi lactnuts
I am looking for really good pictures of positioning and latch-on,
preferably that can be downloaded, printed from the internet. I have the
"Help Me! The Image Collection" at www.nursingmother.com which is great.
What I want to do is have lots of good photos, pictures for our staff to see
everytime they pass our bulletin board. I think seeing these images every
day and new ones being put up here and there will saturate their brains with
optimal positioning and latch-on images. Then it will become second nature
to them (along with my CONSTANT teaching). If anyone can direct me to some,
I would appreciate. Line drawings are not really as helpful as real
pictures. I also have some articles in parenting magazines, written by LLL
and Ibclcs, and some have a great photo on page 1. I wil use these as well.
Thanks.

FYI, the latest thing we are doing at work is to have all staff nurses of
PP, Nursery, and L&D attend our prenatal bf class (so that we all sing the
same tune), and then to be observed/assisted to correctly
position/latch/observe effectiveness of feed on 3 mother/baby dyads w/ the
LC. Several PP nurses have admitted after xxx years of employment there,
they have never helped the mother w/ this - they call the nursery nurse! I
think we are finally getting somewhere with this. (Dare I say that?)
