Dear Fellow Lactnet-ers:

I would welcome replies on the following two issues (either to
Lactnet or privately):

1. Facilitating breastfeeding after c-section

At one of the hospitals where I work, someone on our lactation
committee wants to improve the chances of breastfeeding success for a
mom who has had a c-section. I am assuming that the baby is fine!
Obviously, the odds are against these moms- they have just had major
surgery and are going to be in a lot of pain. I would appreciate
people's input, whether in the form of guidelines, practices,
suggestions, policies, personal experiences.

2. Prenatal breastfeeding class curriculum

How can I obtain a curriculum for a prenatal breastfeeding class
which is to be given to a middle class, insured population? We want
to develop a program in which we would offer all patients a monthly
prenatal breastfeeding class. The aims are to encourage
breastfeeding, to help prepare moms for the 'real thing' and thereby
increase our breastfeeding rates.

Thanks, in advance.
