Janna Here's another client who I think could benefit from a "BABYMOON" (similar to a honeymoon). This means go to bed w/ the baby if possible for a couple days and nurse almost continuously, at every little "peep" the baby makes. If possible have someone else do the household chores and major childcare if there are other sibs. Trying to salvage a supply w/ bf every 2.5 hrs/ days and 4 hr at nite, I think is not enough bf. She needs more frequent feeds. Baby may not be able to "hold" much per feed and will get less fat per feed by spacing feeds too far apart. Frequent feeds would improve the wt gain too, w/ more feeds/24 hrs and higher fat content. Also this would prevent any engorgement, even minor, which is to be avoided at all costs. Good luck to her. Hope her pain is better. Laurie Wheeler, RN, MN, IBCLC Violet Louisiana, s.e.
