I've used a receiving blanket or a cloth diaper many times for women with large breasts. It works well with someone who is having a problem with pain during breastfeeding. I also have them support with a "U" hold instead of a "C" hold. It can make all the difference in the world. One of the nurses on our unit couldn't believe that it was so helpful for these mothers. Then she came with me to a room for a consult and heard the mother's response first hand. Now she is spreading the word to other nurses. One person at a time.
