Jean Thanks for the suggestions. The consensus seems to be exactly what you are saying. My frustration is that this is not a new service, many nurses already are passive aggressive, there have been some pretty nasty scenes already, very unfortunate. One nurse publicly stated that I was purposely jeopardizing babies health by causing them to be jaundiced and hypoglycemic by advocating bf, and that I wanted moms to bf only to keep my job. I seriously considered bringing a slander suit against her. I was dumbfounded. She was reprimanded. I have been a nurse for 20 yrs and many yrs in the nicu so I do not believe they have any more to keep up w/ than I do. However since upper mgmt says they want to be Baby Friendly, I must believe that they do and it is my dept's job to really implement it I guess. After 2+ yrs here, I am wearing thin. I guess it is showing. I will have to renew my faith in the whole process of change and keep up the good fight. Thanks for the encouragement and the reality check.
