Especially when one considers that our minimum "reloading time" following an infant death, is nearly a year. It makes absolutely no evolutionary sense to put 9 months of cumbersome pregnancy into producing a single offspring with a 5 percent chance of withering and dying in the first month or two purely because it couldn't tolerate its food. If breastfeeding were that shaky, we'd have litters.
