Kathy, I agree that it is vastly different on a macro, cultural, level.   But
I don't think we understand well how it does and doesn't differ on the level
inside the individual.

The point of this thread, as I understand it, is that we just don't know
anything like enough about physiological or psychological causes of violence
to connect them **in any causal way** to specific parenting practices -- and
that even the correlations are more complex than they sometimes seem.
