Re the 4 mo old refusing breast unless asleep: sounds just like a
nursing strike. What happened at 2 1/2 mos I wonder? Maybe mom could go
back and try to find out? did she start bottles? Go to work?
I agree the pumping to keep up her supply, co-sleep and feed at nite
like reverse cycle nursing. The "force feeding" does not sound like it
will work. This baby wants to be in control. Maybe the baby would take
some solids? I know he is young but maybe the breastmilk mixed with
mashed banana or used to make mashed (creamed) potato? Letting the baby
play with it and take what he will.
Very challenging case. Keep us posted.
