I found these two books in a regular, chain bookstore. They both are
multi-cultural in the broadest, global sense. (Multicultural also refers to
the diversity on a smaller, almost individual level, such as diversity among
families in a community, not just the 'tourist' approach)

1. Welcoming Babies by Margy Burns Knight.
About traditions and celebrations of welcoming babies. There is one nursing
illustration and although the latch is not great (poor body position) mom is
in the yard, wearing regular clothes. There is one illustration that
contains two bottles on the table while the dad is implied as the primary
caregiver and/or childcare for the day.

2.A Ride on Mother's Back: A Day of Baby Carrying Around the World by Emery
and Durga Bernard. About the many ways that families carry, nurture and
keep their babies safe during the day. Page 1 "All around the world, babies
love to be held close. And parents everywhere need their hands free to work
and play. Lifted and carried by someone who cares, young children ride into
the day...." Page two...(set in Guatemala) Newborn Rosha snuggles in the
folds of she shawl tied around her mother. she rides safe and warm close to
her mother's body. Rosha nurses and sleeps. nurses and sleeps." (mother is
working in the kitchen, baby in a sling) Throughout the book, nursing and
carrying are depicted around the world. In the western/American
illustration, baby is being carried to bed by mom, but it is NOT a crib. In
the background is a photo of baby on dad's back in a backpack.
