Something that worked with my daughter (at ages 1-2 years or so) and taking
medicines: she got to give the "medicine" to her baby doll first and then
was reasonably willing to take it herself. This required a certain
combination of "if you're lucky, you can have some medicine too" and "show
your baby how to do it" and whatever else I could say (true, she knew I was
full of it-- "if you're lucky"). It worked for us. I've noted that for many
somewhat unpleasant things (ear checks when you don't want them, medicines,
time-outs, etc.), being able to work it through with her dolls has been very
helpful for Teagan.
