Belinda Boht, and lactnetters:
Why not check the Lactnet Archives for references about extended BF
and restoration of bone calcium during weaning. They are there.
As for bromocryptine (Parladol), I'd worry about use in Mums, unless
there were very, very good reason, because of the high rate of side
effects. [See Tom Hale's Medications & Mother's Milk.] There's a risk
of hypertension, in an unlucky few leading to stroke. There have been
deaths in the USA, and a report in the lit. of a death in Australia
(from heart attack). Older men who risk serious side effects on Viagra
have at least had many years of life and are unlikely to have infant
children to rear, sad though any unnecessary death is. Mums of newborns
or older babies have a child ....
This is *not* meant to be a comprehensive reply - just raising some
issues.
   Cheers,
    Virginia
