Cindy, thanks so much for sending in these studies, and your comments.  So
very many of my clients who "give up" breastfeeding call later seeking
suggestions for their babies' constipation.  None of the studies mention
re-lactation as a solution, but I once worked with a mom who had abandoned
BF when her baby was 5 months old, and whose doctor recommended that she
attempt to re-lactate at 8 months to "fix" the severe constipation that
ensued.  Doctor wanted baby to receive at least some breastmilk until the
baby was 14 months.  Well, with infinite patience and perseverence mom
succeeded.  Baby resolutely refused the breast, but mom found that providing
250 ml EBM every day to the baby resolved the constipation.
