After nursing and working FT with two kids, my personal experience with tubing in the Medela and Ameda Egnell pumps is that this is going to happen. I was able to suck the moisture out of my set of Ameda Egnell tubing about five years ago with wall suction at our hospital. I've had this particular situation happen a couple of times with moms who've purchased the Medela Pump In Style from me. Most times, in my experience, moms say they feel better spending a few dollars on new tubing. If you are a rental or retail station, I've been told by Medela that you can't purchase the Pump In Style tubing to have on hand for your clients when this situation arises. The client has to order it herself from Medela since the Pump In Style is a single owner item. JMHO, I'd prefer to have it on hand because it's usually quicker to get from me locally than from the company through the mail. Got this info from customer service at Medela a few months ago when I inquired about it for a client.
