Some time ago, I described a client who was advised to wean to Nutramigen
to clear up occasional blood in the stools and eczema. When the word from
her doctors was, "It's not working, so do it longer," she found the
combined voices of lactnetters all over the world, all supporting what her
own judgment was telling her, to be enough for her to buck the system and
return to breastfeeding.

Last I talked to her, the bleeding had virtually stopped, the eczema was
perhaps somewhat better, certainly no worse, and she was beginning to link
the bad days to heat more than diet variations. I reminded her of some of
the lactnet suggestions on coping with eczema. At 7 months, though, he
became really constipated, crying and passing hard stools with some
bleeding. "Stop the solids," I suggested, and she acknowledged that the
constipation had started around the time she started giving solids.

She's cautiously reintroducing more foods into her own diet, and life,
while not smooth, is sure better than it was. Thanks to all for giving
this mom some reassurance she really needed.
