>Approx 6 months ago I posted to LACTNET re: CBFWs ....(crazy breastfeeding >weirdos; meaning men who seem to be obsessed in a perverted way with the idea >of b-feeding) Adriana, Re your CBFWs study: I don't think you are a lunatic at all. I think your survey is really interesting. Perhaps the most telling characteristic amongst these men is their relationship with their mothers. All that stuff about bonding, etc. I have just been reading something Dr Marshall Klauss wrote about bonding, and how breastfeeding plays such a central role in this, and also that routine hospital practices (in Western countries like US and Australia) are 'creating some of the negative social situations we are living with' (quote from the article). He is referring to separation of mother and baby immediately after birth. This is yet another reason for pushing for Baby Friendly Hospitals, and keeping mothers and their babies together. Whenever I hear about a person who is craving power of any sort, for the sake of power alone, eg political, or those who harrass others like your CBFWs, I wonder about their childhood, whether they were breastfed, their relationship with their mothers, etc. I usually mutter something about them not being nurtured properly as a baby/child, unmet needs, etc. It drives my family nuts! ****************************************************************** Joy Anderson B.Sc.
